Scarab cuff

This was going to be something quite different. It started as a cuff for a lapis lazuli ankh, hand carved and inlaid with silver, but the winged scarab looked so much nicer.

The cuff is hand-forged from scrap, and contains some gold that was left in the furnace, so is technically electrum (a mixture of silver and gold). The cuff was then put through the rolling mill and textured with papyrus.

The winged scarab is gilded with 24k gold, inlaid with a carnelian sun disk and the wings are enamelled.

An eye of Horus and an eye of Ra finished it off.

I’ve still got the ankh, and must decide what to do with it.
